Besides improving their agility, balance and coordination, Active Start is helping the participants to build self-confidence, social skills, emotional control, and imagination.

The Active Start – Multi-Sport Athletes programme organised by the Ghajnsielem Redcoats for boys and girls 4 to 6 years old is now into session eight. The participants are already showing significant progress in their basic skills related to the various sports that have been covered so far.

The boys and girls have been scoring goals after dribbling with a football, scoring tries after picking up a rugby ball from the ground, and nailing a terrible pirate with a baseball right between his eyes, maybe not right between his eyes.

Active Start is not just football, rugby and baseball. The participants have been enjoying themselves playing various fun games some of which involved basketball, volleyball, as well as athletics. Besides improving their agility, balance and coordination, Active Start is helping the participants to build self-confidence, social skills, emotional control, and imagination.

Young children need regular, vigorous, physical activity to develop and grow properly. Active Start is designed around the principle that children need different types of play to fully develop the brain and body. During the hour long sessions children are challenged to think while they engage in physical activity. This enhances the development of the brain function. In the process they are having the time of their life and growing to love sport, all kinds of sports.
