With these summer programs the Redcoats aim to promote equality of access to sport and a culture of participation in sport among children and youth

Once again the Ghajnsielem Redcoats will organise sessions for their players during the offseason. These sessions are intended as a progression of the successful programs that were organised by the club during the 2014/15 campaign.

Students attending Year 4, 5 and 6 at the Gozo College Ghajnsielem Primary, who participated in the Fundamentals Baseball Skills program at the same school, were given the opportunity to continue to practice the sport during their summer holidays. The first few sessions were intended to help these participants to catch up with those already playing baseball for the club so that they would be able to practice together. Starting on Tuesday, June 30, the boys and girls of the Ghajnsielem Primary will practice with their more experienced piers of the Redcoats. These sessions will take place at the playground of the Ghajnsielem Primary School.

The Redcoats will also have a summer basketball fundamentals program. These sessions will be conducted by Bruno Di Pietrantonio at the Gozo Sports Complex. The objective of these sessions will be to help prepare the players for the upcoming season and the possible participation of the younger members of the club in the events organised by the Malta Basketball Association.

The young multisport athletes of the Redcoats who participated in ACTIVE START have the opportunity to participate in three programs that cover three important sports. The KICK START (football), BASE HITS (baseball), and FIRST HOOPS (basketball) programs while continuing to work on improving the physical literacy of the participants will concentrate on some sport specific skills.

With these summer programs the Redcoats aim to continue to work towards their objective of promoting equality of access to sport and a culture of participation in sport among children and youth. The focus of the club remains on the development of the person and then of the athlete. In this manner the Redcoats hope to give the participants a better opportunity to succeed in whichever sport they decide to play later on in life.
