The 2018/19 season of the Ghajnsielem Redcoats was officially launched last Friday, October 5, with a fund raising activity at the ClubHouse. After several days of rain, the weather cooperated with the Redcoats as it turned out to be a perfect evening for an outdoor activity. The Pasta Night was a success as many attended and they enjoyed the evening together.
The activity was organised by the players of the youth softball team as they start working towards generating enough funds to be able to travel during the summer of 2019 to participate in an international tournament abroad. The objective of the players is to organise a fund raising activity each month so that by July they would have enough money to cover most of the expenses related to flights and accommodation.
The Pasta Night was a great start. The nice weather made it possible for the activity to be held outside where bingo could be played. There were also several spot prizes donated by various sponsors. The players of the youth softball team and the Ghajnsielem Redcoats would like to thank everyone who attended the activity for their support. Special thanks goes to Jacqueline Grech for organising the bingo and the lottery for the spot prizes.
The organisers would like to also thank the sponsors who donated the spot prizes. Ta’ Pinu Pharmacy of Triq Frangisk Portelli, Gharb, donated a hamper full of cosmetics, Natur – Organic and Gourmet Products of Triq L-Imgarr, Qala, donated three vouchers, Del Capo Pizzeria of Triq 13 ta’ Dicembru, Nadur, donated two vouchers, The School Shop of Triq J F de Chambray, donated two vouchers, The ClubHouse also donated a pizza for 2 voucher, and there was also a hamper of two bottles of wine.
Joseph Azzopardi of The ClubHouse also deserves a BIG thank you for hosting the Pasta Night, and for the special price that was given per person which ensured the success of the fund raising activity.
