There is already strong interest from several softball clubs from around Europe to participate in this season’s edition
The Għajnsielem Redcoats will once again organise an international youth softball tournament next summer. Following the resounding success of SIZZLING FASTPITCH which was held last August, the Club is committed to continue to build on the achievements of the first edition of the tournament.
The second edition of SIZZLING FASTPITCH will take place between July 23 and July 26, 2020, at the Kercem Stadium. There is already strong interest from several softball clubs from around Europe to participate in this season’s edition. The Club is keen to have more teams participating and will make every effort to attract further interest for this high level international softball competition.
The positive feedback from last summer’s participants, Sparks Haarlem and BC The Herons, gave the Club much confidence going forward. The Redcoats are determined to ensure that the participants enjoy their stay in Gozo thoroughly, and depart with a great desire to return. As a result, the busy itinerary will include plenty of free time to enable the visiting teams to do as much sightseeing and beach hopping in Gozo as they would like, and even, maybe, a day tour in Malta.
The Ministry for Gozo, through the Sports Organisations Assistance Scheme, helped with the financing of the 2019 tournament, which guaranteed that the event was of the highest quality. The Club will once again apply for financial support from the Ministry so that the high levels there were achieved during the first edition would be maintained.
