The Mellieha Curves managed to put on an outstanding performance on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at the Kercem Stadium to beat the Ghajnsielem Redcoats 17-7 in Game 4 of the Fastpitch National Championship Series 2020, to cut the advantage of the Redcoats to 3-1.
Curves pitcher Rena Vella was excellent striking out seven Redcoats and limiting them to just three base hits in five innings played. The Redcoats were uncharacteristically sloppy defensively providing very little or no support to their pitchers.

With the loss the Curves managed to stop an 8 game winning streak of the Redcoats that dates back to March 2019. The Redcoats were also unbeaten in Gozo since March 2017.
The Redcoats now need to regroup and get ready for GAME 5 and their second opportunity to clinch their 3rd National Championship in three years. The game will be at the Sannat Ground on Tuesday July 28, 2020.
