REDCOATS BEAT THE CURVES TO TIE THE SERIES

The Ghajnsielem Redcoats bounced back from their disappointing loss in Game 1 to overcome the Mellieha Curves 13-6 in Mellieha on Sunday.

The Redcoats took a 5-0 lead in the first inning. They put together another a few hits in the 3rd inning to extended their lead to 11-3. The Curves did threaten in the final two innings but it was not to be as the Redcoats held on.The Curves were missing their starting pitcher Rena Vella, but backup pitcher Nicole Cassar did really well considering that she was pitching for the first time in a competitive game.

Estelle Scicluna pitched a complete game for the Redcoats and did really well. The Redcoats were outstanding offensively registering 10 hits. There were also some outstanding defensive plays by the Redcoats to keep the Curves from mounting a come back.

The Fastpitch National Championship Series is now tied at one win each. Game 3 will be played on 24 April in Ghajnsielem.
