The Mellieha Curves put on an excellent performance to beat the Ghajnsielem Redcoats 10-9 in Game 1 of the Fastpitch National Championship series played in Mellieha on Sunday.

The Curves took a 5-4 lead after the 1st inning and went on to increase their lead to 10-5. Despite a good comeback by the Redcoats, the Curves managed to hold on to their lead ending the game with a fine double play.
Game 2 will be played on Sunday 10 April, also at the Mellieha ground.
