The Ghajnsielem Redcoats U12 baseball and softball teams will travel to Italy this July to play against teams in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. Two player-pitch baseball games and a softball game are scheduled for the U12s during their stay at Cervignano. This will be the first experience playing abroad for the U12 boys and girls. It will also be the first time that the team played player-pitch baseball. The boys and girls along with their coaches have been working very hard to prepare for this trip, especially the pitchers and the catchers.

The Redcoats are also pleased to announce that the Ministry for Gozo will be providing financial assistance for this trip through the Promotion of Sports, Initiatives and Facilities Scheme. In this manner, the players will have some of the expenses related to this trip covered by the Club through the MGOZ scheme. Without such financial assistance, it would have been very difficult for the Club to be able to travel abroad and to give an opportunity for the U12 Redcoats to gain experience playing against foreign teams.

Visit Gozo within the Ministry for Gozo has also supplied the club with several items that the Club will distribute to the players and coaches of the opposing teams in order to further promote Gozo as a destination of excellence.

TO DARE IS TO DO – only by trying one can achieve, will be the motto for this upcoming adventure for the Ghajnsielem Redcoats.
